Aspiration essay example
Career aspirations are simply the goals you've set out to achieve in either your current profession, or your desired profession. It clearly defines that what you need or want from your work.People often mix up career aspirations with career goals.
Setting goals in your career is important. It is also important to aspire to things in your career. Often time’s people want to use these terms interchangeably but they are not the same thing. Let’s take a look at career goals and aspirations so that you can get motivated.
Aspirations are different from the actual work you do.Aspirations help define your career goals, but are not the exact same things. What do you need from your job? Career aspirations are different from person to person.
Aspirations do not always have to be to move upwards or expand. There are many people who aspire to move to an entry level job in a different industry. Imagine the recent college graduate who graduates without a job and moves into the first job that he can find so that he is making money. That recent graduate will aspire to move into his/her chosen career path. Not only recent graduates aspire to move to new career paths, there are plenty of people who enjoy new challenges and learning new skills.
When you are being asked about your career aspiration, you would be expected to think of something related to your long-term and short-term career goals, as well as objectives, based on your career path planning.
Get a piece of paper and sit down. Think about your goals and write them down. It may sound like something that you do in school but when you put something on paper it makes it feel more real. Write down your aspirations. Leave room below each goal and aspiration and write about how you plan to achieve these goals. By finishing these steps you will be in the 3% of Americans that has taken the time to think about their career and chart it out.
It is very important for one to plan ahead. Hence, it is time for you to start thinking about your career aspirations and set up your career road-map.One of the keys to achieving career success is to clearly define your aspirations.
Another career aspiration is to start your own company in a specific industry. This would put you at the top of the chain and would make you your own boss. This can be a big motivating factor and a crowning achievement to one’s career aspirations. To a lot of people if they start a successful business they view themselves as successful too.
While finding your career aspiration you must be clear about your strengths, weaknesses, area of interests, your financial needs and begin by taking time to sit in a quiet location and answer these questions:
*What were my real childhood career wishes and dreams?
*What are the things that are precious or important to me in life?
*What am I good at accomplishing at work?
*What are the work things I don?t enjoy?
*Three to five years from now, what would I like to be doing? What could I envision myself
doing? What would I like to have achieved?
*How would I describe my perfect job?
Managing your career is up to one and only one person that is you.And for achieving success in your life you must have clear career aspirations which will keep you motivated to work hard till the end but if don't have any career aspirations till now then its your final time to sit and think about your aspirations and write it down on a paper to have a clear vision of your future or to get prepared yourself to get in a position that you actually want.
Brainstorming helps you to narrow the topic to a single aspiration, which helps focus your essay. In the brainstorming stage, you can think about your childhood, your role models, your strengths, your weaknesses and your future plans in order to decide on the main idea of the essay. The University of Arizona suggests that you select "a topic that describes something of personal importance in your life, with which you can use vivid personal experiences as supporting details." Once you have selected the topic, compose a single thesis statement that clearly expresses the aspiration you will be discussing.
Once you've written down your career aspirations, the next step is to identify your goals.Your goals are the stepping-stones you will use to reach your desired destination. Keep in mind that the quality of the goals you set will determine their effectiveness.
Whether it's for a scholarship, a college application or an English assignment, you may be asked to write an essay on your goals and aspirations. You can choose to write about a long-term, short-term, academic or professional goal. Whatever aspiration you select for the essay, you must explain your motivations and your game plan to realize it.
Your aspiration must be based on S.M.A.R.T Technique i.e
S = Specific- your Goals needs to be explicit and detailed.
M = Measurable -Your goals should have a specific outcome against which you can measure your
A = Attainable -Goals must allow you to stretch yourself, but still be reasonable
R = Relevant -Each goal must have meaning for you
T = Time-bound -Goals must clearly define a beginning and an ending

Once I was attending high school, I was notified about a program that has changed my life entirely: Pima County JTED (Joint Technical Education District). They offer “career jump-start” programs, that can benefit people who know what they want to become in life. It works by going through the high schools and enrolling the students whom are interested into their programs: so you get high school credit and a lead into your future career. I found out that one of the programs that they have there is cosmetology. I was interested as soon as I was told this; so I contacted my counselor and asked how I would be able to get into this program. I wrote essays for them, sent in letters of recommendation, and attended the meetings that they held. I sent in my application soon after, and was soon accepted into the program. The impact that this has had on me is great: I attend school Monday through Friday from 7:20 am - 12:00 pm, and then head to beauty school (JTED) from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm, it's a lot of work, but I'm handling it well, if I do say so myself.

Our dreams, our hopes, our aspirations and our goals, these are what drive us to succeed: these are our ambitions in this short life. Children are often asked, “What do you want to be when you grow older?” Most reply simply by stating, “I want to be rich!” And just like that, without giving any other thought; for their minds are still so naive, they automatically assume that once you reach this “older” stage of life, money will be handed out on a silver platter: therefore, they will become rich, achieving what they have desired. Yet, as they grow older and their minds and bodies start to mature, epiphany strikes: in order to be rich, you have to make something of yourself, and this is when our goals begin to manifest.
This is particularly true when you achieve a recognized qualification.

This part of the analysis pushes you to reflect more broadly on the topic, thereby developing your essay more and giving it a sense of cohesion and completeness.

As a child, I didn't have much of an idea what I wanted to be, but as time flowed by, I slowly became to realize what I want to do: cosmetology. Around the age of 12, I began messing with my hair: I colored it pink, blue, orange, purple, green: any vivid color that I desired, and I really took interest in doing this. People began to awe at all the different colors that I would put into my hair, and I became proud of it. Just the idea of being able to change your hair color or style to anything you could ever want: it's just fascinating to me. I mean, you could have your normal brown hair one day, and vibrant pink the next: it's awesome. I knew that this was the place where I needed to be.

It's taken a lot of time and thought for me to finally realize it, but I know that it's what I really want, and I'll do anything to achieve it. “If you could have one wish, what would it be? We all have hopes and dreams that we do
almost anything to make real. And if we get lucky, and our wish is granted, maybe that's what we call happiness.” (Takemura, Masaharu) Owning my own business is my dream, my biggest goal, and I won't stop at anything. Looking back on it now, I realize that I cannot become the lawyer I wanted to be. I have come to realize that, that dream was not only my own, but a dream of my family. My parents often talked of me becoming a lawyer and although their enthusiasm continued, mine slowly diminished; until finally I realized I did not want to become a lawyer. I remember how hard it was to tell my parents of my decision, I felt as if I was letting them down, but I came to realize that I should do what made me happy, and not just try to please others. So I started thinking about what I wanted to do. I went from teaching to law enforcement, computer programming to psychology and numerous other professions. Now I have come to a place in my life where I must choose what to do with my future, choose what will make me happy. There are so many steps I need to take to begin life for example, graduating from high school and college, finding that special someone, and finding that perfect job.
