You'll notice a few red dots (rejected students) and yellow dots (waitlisted students) mixed in with the green and blue on the left and lower portions of the graph. A few students with grades and test scores that were on target for Bowling Green were not admitted. The opposite is also true -- some students got in with grades and test scores that were a bit below the norm. This is because Bowling Green's admissions process is about more than numerical data. The admissions folks will want to see that you have taken rigorous college preparatory courses, not courses that get you an easy "A." The university will also take into consideration factors such as a student's contribution to campus diversity, a student's special talents, and a student's socioeconomic background.

At Bowling Green State University, we keep the cost of higher education within reach.

Bowling Green has an acceptance rate of 73 percent, making it a largely accessible school. Students with grades and standardized test scores that are average or better will have a good chance of being admitted. In addition to filling out an online application, students must submit scores from either the SAT or ACT—either test is accepted. Also, students must submit a high school transcript and pay an application fee.

Low fees, financial aid, student employment opportunities, and payment plans combine to make the ultimate educational experience an affordable one. Currently, 70 percent of all BGSU students receive some type of financial assistance.
Bowling Green State University admissions aren't overly selective, but you will need decent grades and test scores to be admitted. Successful applicants typically have high school averages of "B-" or higher, combined SAT scores of 900 or higher (RW+M), and ACT composite scores of 17 or better.
