During the course of my learning about MBA programs, I have also interacted with a current student, Manish Dabas, at Ross. I was enthused to know about Ross education and culture. His description of the diverse community and a mire of activities on the campus have inspired me to become a part of this vibrant culture. Having heard about the practical learning environment that he is experiencing, I look forward to join Ross school of business.

Following graduation from ABC Business School, I intend to serve a marketing team in a local physical therapy company, such as Ridgeview Physical Therapy.

My short-term goal is to lead a team, furthering success in the Ridgeview area.
After graduating as a Mechanical engineer from IIT Delhi, I started my professional life with Eicher, one of India’s leading automobile firms, where I lead short term projects in Manufacturing, Product Design, Marketing and Vendor Development. My subsequent experience at Asian Paints Limited, among top 10 decorative coatings companies in the world, involved working at grass root level in a green-field project. As Production and Planning executive for the project, I lead a team of 72 people to achieve design capacity. These exposures strengthened my interpersonal and leadership skills. Also, while dealing with a variety of people related issues, I realized the importance of developing further on my people management skills.

Due to the popular physical therapy company thirty miles from Ridgeview, much of the local population is unaware of the quality services Ridgeview Physical Therapy has to offer. I hope to increase visits by 40 percent in the first 5 years of my employment.
I believe that at this point in my life, a management education will complement my work experience and provide additional skills required to pursue my career goals. Ross MBA will equip me with knowledge on business strategy with focused courses in the curriculum. With an emphasis on action based learning, Ross MBA would provide me an interactive real-time environment. This is the type of environment in which I learn and work best. Here I will get an opportunity to work on practical business issues through student clubs like Business Organization and Development (BOND) and through Multidisciplinary Action Projects (MAP) program. These real life problems would prepare me for my future role and also hone up my ability to align organization objectives to specific problems, which I believe is imperative in a consulting role.

My long-term goal includes extending the company’s reach into surrounding cities, and eventually beyond national barriers, becoming a global marketing manager.

I expect to gain skills and experiences from ABC Business School that will propel my short and long-term goals.

I hope to develop an experiential and diverse learning experience and have the opportunity to interact with different groups of people to learn from their business insights and endeavours.
I believe that understanding of people holds prime importance in life and is imperative for developing myself as a good human being. As there is a wide difference between ideologies of people, I need to understand things which may be uncomforting for others in order to build good relations. Since face value can not give a complete understanding in all circumstances, I wanted to learn some tools for assessment of behavioral traits. I particularly felt this requirement when I moved to different places during my work experience and I wanted to quickly adjust to new culture and environment. At that stage, I decided to learn Body Language and Graphology, a tool for assessing personality traits through handwriting analysis. I started reading books and analyzing handwriting samples while taking guidance from a Graphology expert. Slowly this activity became a part and parcel of my life. As about two third of communication happens by body gestures, interpretation of body language provides a direct measure of individual thoughts. In addition, through handwriting analysis I have been able to develop a better understanding of my neighbors, friends and other people I interact with. Usage of these tools helped me in.

From ABC Business School, I seek the tools and resources needed to further engage in my marketing knowledge, perform professional strategic analyses, and re-evaluate my past work experiences. I look forward to taking courses from Professor Jim.
During my graduation at IIT, I was selected to go for an International Student Exchange program with University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Fall 2001. Spending four months with a diverse community and in a different education system was a unique learning experience. I quickly adjusted in this new education system where my hard work earned me a place in Deans List for Fall 2001 semester, on basis of outstanding academic performance.

      W. Reid, who has published the research of the success of Matthews and Marketing in his book, “Matthews Commerce,” which has helped me continue my career this far. I also look forward to taking the unique classes taught by Professor Rachel E. Davis, introducing me to the physical therapy world and enriching my business skills in that area.
My current role as Transformation Manager at IBM BTO includes supporting business transformations, devising solutions for clients and driving six sigma projects. While working with clients and IBM teams on various improvement areas, I am required to perform an in-depth analysis in order to build a strong business case. All these activities involve a significant amount of data analysis and decision making which motivated me to strengthen my analytical skills further. At this stage I decided to undergo Black Belt training in Six-Sigma, a methodology which provides a structure and a set of statistical tools for problem resolution.

When my brother’s car accident in 2011 caused immobility in his left leg, he never thought he would be able to play his favorite sport again. David Andrews, a 1994 graduate from ABC Business School, ensured that that would not come to pass.

I got myself enrolled for an online Black Belt training program at IBM. Thorough training sessions in this program substantially increased my knowledge in Six- Sigma. After successful completion of the training with a test score of 95 %, I started applying this methodology with a rigor. I used six sigma tools in various projects to convince senior management as well as clients regarding various business decisions. In a critical business project to improve productivity, I used six sigma tools in order to identify and prioritize major contributors to low productivity. I have also been able to extract direct business impact of this methodology because it provides a strong basis for negotiation with clients in various stages of business transition and delivery.

I spoke with Andrews about his journey, and he told me that it was through the opportunities and education he received from the professors and students at ABC Business School that helped him open his own practice.

The business aspects include a wide ambit view of several sub-streams like marketing, finance, management, entrepreneurship, international business, resource management etc.

I hope to follow in Andrews’s footsteps. With the passion I have for the success of Ridgeview Physical Therapy, and the determination I learned from watching my brother, all I need to complete my goals is the knowledge available to me through an MBA at ABC Business School.
Lately the global market has placed plenty of value on specialized business administration skills related to tourism and hospitality industries, media, advertising and public relations, operational management and legal management. Healthcare management is another area growing rapidly with the influx of “big data” promising rapid streamlining of redundant information to actionable insights. All these specializations make management of information and business strategies a highly lucrative vocation.

I look forward to completing my career aspirations using the tools received from ABC Business School to contribute to my professional career.

The world of physical therapy is growing, and with my skills in marketing, I hope to grow the local Ridgeview services across the globe.

Working in a team environment with a dynamic community at Ross will enhance my people management skills. And a focus on nurturing community spirit as an integral part of Ross culture would help me build strong networking skills which are critical in a consulting profile and dynamic business environment. Leadership in Action — Sample Essay Two

Prompt: Present evidence of your leadership capacity and/or potential. (Approx 550 words)

Nancy, the CEO of Jasmine Publishing House, bought me a coffee and told me I should invest in warm gloves as we sat down at a corner diner for what would be a game-changing business meeting. As the leading publishing house in Europe, Nancy informed me that JPH was interested in closing a multi-million dollar deal with our fashion magazine, Zoelle, provided we changed the magazine's appearance to attract a broader European audience.

My stay in an international dormitory and interaction with people from across the globe added a new dimension to my thinking and persona. Courses at UMass involved working in teams with members from different countries and this enhanced my abilities as a team player. In addition, my participation in various extracurricular activities and my involvement in a course on ldquo;Inter- Cultural Livingrdquo; enabled me to mingle with different people and cultures. An entire gamut of events on the campus made me feel like being a part of a global community and gave me a global exposure.

As production manager, my job was to lead and supervise a staff of 30 to match Nancy's vision, working closely with the design team, photographers, production staff and marketing team. After three weeks of heavy brainstorming, we developed a fresh appearance for the magazine.

I believe that making contribution to community development is essential and is something that keeps me humane. When I was in XI standard, I got an opportunity of teaching underprivileged children as part of a small campaign organized in my school. I got a feeling of personal satisfaction after teaching in this two day campaign. This motivated me to contribute my bit for benefit of society by devoting some time for social cause. Carrying forward on this idea at IIT Delhi, I was involved in teaching children at the “Central School” located in the campus. I also took part in a campaign for creating education awareness in villages. As part of this campaign, I stayed for one week in a nearby village with a team of 10 volunteers and conducted various sessions to create interest in education among villagers.

I invited Nancy to a meeting with me and three of our executive producers. I shared with her the strategy we had created in order to solve our appearance problem, as well as estimated costs and complications.

Choosing a Campus Program
If you are interested in attending a campus-based BBA program, you will first need to consider the location of the school. Is housing available? Will you be able to commute from home? What are the area's living costs? Will you be able to find work or an internship while you earn your degree? All of these things will play a role in your education experience. Other things to consider include program curriculum, campus facilities, career placement resources, and school reputation. Get more tips on choosing an undergraduate school.

Choosing an Online Program
If you would prefer online study, you have even more options available to you. There are schools all over the world with online programs. Some schools are even online only. When choosing an online school, you should evaluate accreditation, course curriculum, course delivery methods, and your ability to work independently.

Nancy agreed that the direction our magazine was going fit well with her vision and audience, and that JPH would be happy to work with us within the next week.

Although the team was excited to accept the offer, I was concerned that we were not prepared to complete the project so quickly.

I have envisioned my goal to be a business leader and drive people towards a business objective. I wish to pursue this goal by becoming a partner with a firm in consulting domain.

Though the executive producers did not understand, as our production team was to begin work on the next issue the following day, I explained that there may include deep financial consequences if we rush into the process.
The College was established in the year 1963. The College runs under the management of RSS Trust (Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust). The institution offers good ambience for the execution of the academic programs so as to bring up the hidden caliber in participants.

I wanted to ensure that JPH received a consistent layout from Zoelle magazine. Nancy agreed to wait until the upcoming issue was complete before beginning work on the new look.

We began work the following Tuesday, after the latest issue was produced.

During my IIT life, I also utilized my hobby of poetry composition to contribute for social cause. I wrote some poems for a Non Government Organization (NGO) magazine ndash; ldquo;Yuva Samvadrdquo; to convey a message on issues such as agricultural development. My attachment with this organization inspired me to contribute more and pursuing this desire I donated my first salary amount, after graduation, to an orphanage run by an NGO. I felt that giving returns from my first efforts in professional life was one of the ways to give something back to society.

I collaborated with an eight member marketing team to develop new branding for our magazine and mediated this branding with the design team, ensuring that it was able to blend well with their ideas and insights based on the first meeting with Nancy. I led the operation of the first issue to be published via JPH, supervising 30 employees.
In my current profile as Transformation manager at IBM BTO, my responsibilities include providing support for business transition, synthesizing solutions for clients and driving projects with global teams. Through this experience, I improved my ability to work with cross functional teams, resolve problems in different areas and deal with customer requirements. While resolving issues with IBM clients, I also felt the need to learn more about business strategy to have a better alignment of business goals to specific problems.

After the issue was published, our sales increased by 42 percent in the first week. After leading the Zoelle team to a business deal close and a fresh start, I learned that with the proper leadership, a staff of varied talents, insights and opinions can work closely together to produce a magazine that continues to increase its sells each issue. My initiative helped provide Zoelle with its largest new contract that year, a $2 million deal. Customers from Europe and the United States commented with positive remarks on the new look, showing interest in the replacement of the former look, which had been being published for seven years.

I have always been enamored of the ideal of public service, which is to say, I have always envisioned myself becoming a perfectly disinterested public servant whose only impetus is to serve his country. Although I am constantly reminded that...

After this leadership experience, I was able to see my potential as a leader. I can communicate effectively with all members of a group and help connect them with one another to make a larger picture. I protect my business discernment even against an upset crowd, and am able to properly persuade others to understand other perspectives.

Last fall, my mother was able to snag four tickets to Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. The Arizona Diamondbacks, my home team, were taking on the New York Yankees. We had an extra ticket, and since my brother was studying in Europe, I invited my...

Through learning more about leadership every day with my work in Zoelle, I hope to continue to strengthen these abilities and witness the success they can bring to media production.

Repair and Restore — Sample Essay Three

Prompt: Describe a challenging situation you have faced in the past. How did you overcome the challenge? (450 Words)

I looked across my celebratory cheesecake and beamed up at my new coworkers. I couldn't believe I had finally landed my dream job. All of the senior editors were having lunch in the cafe across the street from the bakery where the finance team and marketing team shared dessert. I had been hired as a budget analyst at my favorite magazine. My job was to work alongside the business manager to help create a more healthy marriage between the finance and marketing departments, thus improving our sales and workplace environment.

DAYANANDA SAGAR College of Engineering is one among the prominent Colleges offering professional education in the country. The College mainly offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering. They also offer MCA courses along with doctorate level courses in technical subjects.

On my way home, I reflected on my relief in finally having an exciting and secure career.

Just three months later, we met at the same bakery where I had celebrated my new job. Every department from our small, close-knit staff was present. As the publication manager began to tell us the news, I remember how our faces fell. Our publication company was going out of business, and every publication was to be shut down. She explained that they had tried to find another publishing company without success.

Not only did I feel as though I failed the company, I also knew that I, as well as the other 17 employees, was out of a job. We went back to our offices and packed up our things. Writers and designers were frantically calling around, asking for open positions. An employee from the finance department began tweaking his resume, and the marketing department apologized to the publication manager and editor-in-chief, who responded graciously.

I had to leave my apartment not long after losing my job. I stayed with a friend on the north side of town as I tried to find a job in a shrinking economic suburb. It took six months to find a position, and though I had to move and leave behind my dream, I found a new way to work toward my new dream.

From this experience, I learned the importance of adaptability.

Adding value to myself by exploring and learning new things is one my passions. This is something which makes me dynamic and is critical for enhancement of my personal and professional skills.

Only through my ability to embrace the change happening around me was I able to find a new job and start a new life with new visions and goals. Applying for my MBA would have sounded bizarre to the disheartened, homeless idealist who lost her dream. But now, after finding in me the strength to persevere, I am able to take what I learned from my previous job and pair it with what I learn from the university. This knowledge will help me ensure that the future companies I work with will not have to endure a similar fallout.

However, if there comes a time when I am again involved in a lost company, I know how to repair. I know how to restore.

In this essay, the applicant was asked to recall a challenging situation to which the writer overcame the boundaries. The writer was asked to do this in approximately 450 words, using concise language and proper grammar and punctuation. In questions similar to these, the admissions officers are looking for:

  • Applicant's ability to identify a challenging moment in her life: This writer uses a relevant example of a challenging situation, describing the challenge of losing a job, losing housing, and having to move to a different city.
  • Examples of how the applicant overcame these challenges: The writer cites her “adaptability” as the reason why she was able to overcome this challenge. Instead of giving up, the applicant tells of applying for other jobs, even ones that were out of her comfort zone and in another city.
Some colleges also provide ‘hybrid programs’ which combine the learning options from two or more majors. However it might be worth it to evaluate the accreditation of these options given the relative novelty and industry awareness.

  • Brief insights to what the applicant learned from the challenge: This writer learned how to maintain strength, perseverance and adaptability in challenging situations. The applicant tells of continuing the learning process in her MBA program and allowing it to help future companies.
