Title Length Color Rating Descriptive Essay: A Healing Place - In my hometown, there is not much to do on any night of the week, so many nights I found myself walking around town with my friends. After walking an hour of so we would often become tired and need a rest.
My dream house would be situated in place that has a lake nearby. So that everyday will be refreshing by the breeze coming from those trees that would feel so good. I choose to have a lake nearby because it is better to go natural than artificial like making swimming pools that would make my dream house cost a lot. Also, I can go fishing on the lake if I feel like doing it. My dream house will not have a tall gate because it would be inappropriate for a house near a lake. On my backyard, there will be a half basketball court where I can play basketball whenever I want. Then there will also be a wide place in the backyard wherein it would be a picnic place for my family.

The swing along the Mississippi River was always a great resting spot. The metal swing fits up to four people and has a great view of the Lock and Dam. Although the swing was cold when we first sat down, it would soon warm up and sometimes we would end up staying there for hours just talking.

The images the reader gets are cold, lonely, and dark as some think winter to be; however, in the second part the reader receives an image of bright colors which could be interpreted as a time of renewal, spring, or a time when things are looking up. Imagery and metaphors are used to show the reader the feeling and life depiction of the person in the poem while portraying the image that reflects this.
My dream house's interior design should be carefully planned because I believe that beauty lies within the details. Consequently, I'd like it to have a big, spacious hall since it is the first place that you see as you come in through the front door. At the end of the hall, there would be a staircase leading upstairs. I'd like to decorate the walls of the hall with famous artist's reproductions of still life paintings. For me, these paintings would give person feelings of relaxation and serenity. The first room on the right would be the living-room which is quite large and full of light. Day light is essential for me so I'd like to have big windows in the living room. A door from the living room would lead to a small study where I could write, read books and work on my assignments. This small room would make me feel calm and attentive so I could focus my attention to my projects. Upstairs there would be bedroom and bathroom. Also, my bedroom would reflect my inner world and privacy so it would be painted with my favorite color which is blue. My view is that blue is the color that represents my feelings of harmony and peace. In short I can say that, the interior of my dream house is like my spiritual world so I'd decorate it in such a way that all the rooms, objects and colors would symbolize my true feelings.

Essay on Dream House

Essay on Dream House

My dream is to live in a big detached house surrounded by a big garden full of flowers and trees. I wouldn't like to live in an apartment with blocks of flats and rude neighbors making noise in the middle of the night. My dream house should be located outside the city, on the outskirts of town where I can find true peace and happiness. Therefore, my dream house should have the characteristics that represent my spiritual world and personality with its location as well as its inner and outer design.

It will be nice and relaxing because it has a constant weather all that time, perfect environment. Also I will have a nice 2 floor cabin. The cabins will look like the ones that you see in forest. My whole family will live there after I am 75. But before that I will spend my time gathering all the money to buy a piece of land, a plane, a boat, and some vegetable seed (lot of them).
The outer design of my dream house should be attractively decorated as much as the interior because I prefer to spend time outdoors. I desire to have magnificent gardens surrounding my house. The front garden should be full of flowers, bushes and fruit trees. The scent of flowers and fruit trees mixed in the air reminds me of heavenly moments filled with happiness and joy. The back garden should be very large so that I can have a lawn with a swimming pool. In addition, there would be another lawn which comes up to the patio. There would also be a flower bed near the back door and a path leading to the garden shed and the greenhouse, where I'd like to grow my own tomatoes, green peppers, parsleys, eggplants. Besides, there would be a large cage filled with different species of birds like peacocks or parrots. I'd let the door of the cage be open all the time for freedom is very important for me. Birds would come into the cage whenever they want to feed themselves. Watching colorful birds flying above my head while swimming in the pool would be a fantastic experience. Since the outside of my dream house would let me be alone with nature and fill my soul with peace and quietness, its design is very important and attentively arranged.

I want my dream place to be nice and relaxing where you can enjoy the environment and very peaceful weather.... [tags: Descriptive Essay, Descriptive Writing] 753 words
(22 pages) Good Essays [preview] First Paper: “The House on Mango Street” - First Paper: “The House on Mango Street” In The House of Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros depicts the character of Esperanza as a coming-of-age female who dreams about having a house of her own. The house will bring for her the personal and family stability that she needs; as evidenced by the way the author uses the house to represent Esperanza’s search for what she wants to be as an artist and as a woman.
The house will be in a quiet and safe neighborhood in Europe, preferably in France, Sweden or Amsterdam. I chose these three countries because of the kind of lifestyle they have. Since I have a laid-back personality and I love food, I think these places will be perfect for me. I also think that it will be a perfect to live in if I have a family.

This is significant because it speaks about how people may use their imagination as a means to reinvent themselves.... [tags: Literature Review] 917 words

My dream house will be a 2-story house with a basement and it will be made out of wood. My basement will be a stockroom. All of my things that have sentimental value on me would be placed there. Also, there would be rum stored and hidden there because as they say, the longer the rum stays the more it tastes good. Even though it is dark there will be enough lighting to see everything in the basement.

Symbols are also used throughout to help understand the theme through the setting.Poe uses the setting to create an atmosphere in the reader's mind. He chose every word in every sentence carefully to create a gloomy mood.

From my point of view, the location of my dream house is very important and the surroundings and the position of a house should be carefully considered. I've always been fascinated by rivers and the sound of the birds in the mornings. I'd feel positive and lively if I was woken up by the sound of doves perched on the branches of the trees. In this respect, I imagine my dream house near a flowing river, built in the countryside. It would be located in such a place that I could find fresh water and air. In addition, my house's position would enable me to have as many pets as possible since a large garden with enough space would provide shelter for them. Also, I'd like my dream house to be near to the city centre so that I might go to big shopping malls with my car if I needed to. As a matter of fact, peace and harmony combined with nature would be the basic feature of the location of my dream house with its closeness to the city for emergency situations and supplying the necessities.

Shakespeare writes in this way to describe to us who Hermia is as a character in this book. This short, simple quote tells us a lot about Hermia and how she treats other people. She is a very kind, caring person who loves Lysander very much.
When a person enters the house, there is a Starry Starry Night painting by Van Gogh hanging in the living room. There is a U-shaped modern kitchen with marble countertop, and complete with kitchen utensils, a pantry, freezer, and refrigerator. The kitchen also serves as a mini-bar when I have people over and if I want to cook in front of them. For me, the most beautiful part of the house is the kitchen because of my passion for cooking and baking, and people will always look at the kitchen.

We can gather all of this from lines 171-181 in Act 1, Scene 1. Hermia is also a character who shows her love through poetry.... [tags: description, writing style] 595 words

Although the term “Gothic” originally referred only to literature set in the Gothic (or medieval) period, its meaning has since been extended to include a particular style of writing.
Since I was a kid, I always loved looking at houses with basic colors, the ones that are off-white, gray, brown, black, and white. I want it to be a bungalow style house with a lawn in front. There are should be enough parking for three cars and a dirty kitchen outside because I love to cook. The front door is French style made of mahogany wood with brass handles. The outside walls are ivy green and the roof is dark gray. There is a front porch where people can relax and sit while having tea and cookies.

In order for literature to be “Gothic,” it must fulfill some specific requirements.... [tags: Edgar Allen Poe] 843 words
(24 pages) Better Essays [preview] How Shakespeare Presents Each Group Of Charachters In A Midsummer Night's Dream - How Shakespeare Presents Each Group Of Charachters In A Midsummer Night's Dream The whole play revolves around four main groups: the fairies, the mechanicals, the royals and the lovers. These four groups all have their own reasons for ending up together in the same wood. The groups affect and entwine with each other.
In my opinion, each person has a dream house that continues to remain on his mind as long as he lives. Places we spend our life is very significant because our moods are affected by the design and the location. If we live in a place filled with noise, chaos and air pollution our feelings would tend to be negative. On the contrary, if we live in a place close to the serenity of nature, our minds, bodies and spirits will be filled with positive energies. That's why I'd like my dream house be located on the outskirts of a city, encircled with flowers, trees and birds. Likewise, we either feel relaxed or tenser inside our homes. If the interior design and colors used arise feelings of anger or anxiety we will be unhappy and depressed in our houses. Therefore, I prefer to plan interior of my dream house to give me feelings of relaxation and joy. In conclusion, everything about my dream house would reflect my feelings, thoughts and my personality so when you step in my house, you would, in a way, get into my inner world.

An example of this is when Bottom from the mechanicals is turned into a donkey as part of Oberon the fairy kings revenge on his wife Titania queen of the fairies.... [tags: Papers] 1059 words

If I could build my dream house it would be amazing.I would like it to be on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Also my house would sit on the beautiful, white, sandy beaches. My dream house would include a beautiful bedroom, lugubrious bathroom, and an exciting back yard.

The windows are also French style made of mahogany wood. The guest room has two single beds and my room has a king-sized bed.
